The Kestrel SFS (Spin Finesse System) spinning reel is amazingly light, weighing in at only 4.6 ounces. The full carbon fiber frame along with maximum use of 7075 & 6061 aluminum components keep the reel’s weight to the absolute minimum.
Strength Without The Weight
The carbon fiber drag washers deliver 10 lbs of smooth stopping power and the reel is built with a 7075 aluminum main shaft & 2014 aluminum drive gear, solid brass pinion gear, and a shallow cut CNC 6061 aluminum braid-ready spool.
Innovative Spool & Reel Rotor
The patented spool design limits line friction and improves casting distance and line control. Plus the aerodynamic reel rotor lowers resistance and provides better overall performance.

Although this is a finesse reel, the Kestrel Carbon Body SFS reel comes with plenty of power. With double sliding stabilizer rods (D.S.S.R.), an aluminum main gear and brass pinion gear as well as a direct drive aluminum handle, this reel provides anglers with a surprisingly stout tool to target finicky fish in clear and/or highly pressured waters.

The premium carbon fiber drag washers in the Kestrel deliver smooth stopping power. The Kestrel also gives you a 6.2:1 gear ratio for a tremendous balance of torque and speed with a line retrieve of 28.4 inches per turn (IPT) of the handle. This reel balances well on any finesse fishing rod and is a great choice for targeting bass, trout, crappies and other panfish.
